Quick Guide: How to Watch UFC Pay-Per-View Events with a discount

While MMA fans in the USA have to pay top-dollar payperview fees for main events, UFC fight fans in Germany can watch them all for a much cheaper price on a streaming service called DAZN.

Want to live stream UFC main events for a huge discount? You don’t have to be particularly tech-savvy, just follow this step-by-step guide:

  1. Get yourself a good VPN. For live streaming the UFC, we recommend NordVPN.
  2. Sign up and register for an account.
  3. Download the VPN software onto the device you want to live stream UFC fights on.
  4. Log in with the credentials you created at sign up.
  5. Connect to a server in Germany. Make sure the VPN stays connected and is running.
  6. Navigate to the DAZN sports page. You’ll see the UFC live event you’re trying to watch and can thumb through a variety of older fights. You will need to get a subscription of $30/month to access the content.

But how does all this work? If you want to find out more information about VPNs, saving money and unblocking content from around the world, read our full article below.

If you’re an MMA junkie, chances are you’ve spent some time searching for free live streams of UFC main events. In the United States, pay-per-view runs about $70 per event — which can add up quickly if you’re trying to watch all your favorite stars and key championship bouts.

Sometimes you can hunt down free MMA streams on sites like Reddit, or you can find links posted on sketchy sites. However, most of those streams are illegal, and you never know if there’s some virus or other kind of malware lurking within that link. With a simple click, your device can be crippled in a matter of seconds.

That’s why we recommend paying for PPV events. But if that’s not an option for you, don’t worry. We’ll tell you what options people take to watch PPV fights for free, or at a big discount.

However, the sites that offer big discounts aren’t available worldwide. The free sites can be dangerous. So we always recommend you use a VPN when watching UFC Pay-Per-View Fights for free, or at a discount.

How People Watch UFC Main Events for Free

Though the UFC has an exclusive five-year deal to show all of its pay-per-view events through ESPN+, that’s only in the US. The UFC cuts all kinds of international deals across the globe.

For example, in Poland, the Polsat Sport channel (that’s included in most local cable television packages) has all the main events included. In Russia, they’re shown on the Wink channel. The Combate channel picks up the UFC in Brazil. MolaTV has the rights for Indonesia.

If you were to use a VPN to access these streams, first you’d need a subscription to the channel. Then you’d need to understand whatever native language the broadcast is in — be it Polish, Russian, or Portuguese.

If you’re reading this, you’re probably looking for an English-language broadcast. The free, but unofficial, Rojadirecta site offers links to free streams of different sports like boxing, football, and of course, the UFC. They’re in English, so you’ll still enjoy the commentary of Joe Rogan and Jon Anik while watching your favorite bouts.

Just remember that Rojadirecta is an unofficial site. They share UFC content, but don’t have a license for it. Therefore, we don’t recommend you access it if this is considered illegal in your country. If you do decide to use it and want to watch a UFC fight tonight live for free, at least make sure your system is protected by using a VPN.

How to Watch PPV Events at a Big Discount

If you don’t want to risk using an unofficial stream, you can still watch your favorite bouts at a discount. One of the best platforms to catch UFC PPV events live is Germany’s DAZN. This platform allows you to stream the event in English.

DAZN will cost you $30 a month, which may sound like a lot, but is a massive discount compared to the $70 per event that most Americans will have to pay otherwise. With DAZN, you’re getting access to all PPV events available on the site, past and present.

Here’s how you can get DAZN to work for you, no matter where you are in the world:

  1. Choose a good VPN and sign up for an account. A VPN will help you unlock streams that may be geographically blocked, and it will protect your connection from hackers. Our pick for catching PPV fights is NordVPN.

Of course, there are many streaming platforms throughout the world that offer access to UFC fights. However, not all of them are as reliable or internationally accessible as DAZN. Mola.tv in Indonesia, for example, doesn’t accept international credit cards nor PayPal, making it near-impossible to get a (cheap) subscription to their services unless you have an Indonesian card available.

Watching the UFC for Free or at a Discount: How Do VPNs Work?

When it comes to unblocking international content, a VPN changes your IP address. When you use the internet, your internet service provider (ISP) assigns you an IP address from one of their local servers. You can think about it like your home or work address, only online.

Because of this digital marker websites and platforms can recognize your location. For example, an American IP address might look like 193.0.44.157. This is how DAZN’s site will know you’re not in Germany, and not display their PPV fight stream.

But when you connect to a VPN’s server, that server can give your device an IP address from whatever country you want. So when you’re accessing DAZN’s live stream of UFC events with a VPN, the website thinks your device is in Germany. Since NordVPN has over 5,200 servers located around the globe, you can perform this same trick in any country of your choice.

VPNs let you get around geographical roadblocks, but they also protect your online privacy. The new IP is anonymous and masks your online identity. In short, unblocking UFC events is just the tip of the iceberg when we talk about the advantages of a VPN.

Which VPN Provider Should I Choose to Watch UFC?

We’ve recommended NordVPN for live streaming UFC because it’s at the perfect price point and meets the requirements that a VPN needs. Those requirements are:

  1. Fast and stable servers: When you’re live streaming sports, you’re going to need strong connections and speeds. There’s nothing worse than being in the middle of a championship bout and having your connection drop. When your live stream starts buffering and pixelating, that can be frustrating as well. NordVPN has an excellent reputation when it comes to providing fast and steady servers.
  2. Unlimited data, traffic, and bandwidth: In order to watch a full UFC main card, you’ll need unlimited amounts of data to get from start to finish. With NordVPN, you get unlimited bandwidth along with your limitless high speeds. That way you can watch your entire UFC fight tonight live, for free with no interruptions.
  3. Servers located in Germany: To access DAZN’s less expensive stream, you’ll need to have a VPN with servers in Germany. NordVPN has very reliable servers in both Berlin and Frankfurt.
  4. Dedicated IP addresses and obfuscated servers: Many platforms and services try to block VPN servers for the exact licensing reasons we discussed earlier. Simply put, NordVPN’s dedicated IP addresses and obfuscated servers make it extremely difficult for websites to figure out if the server is from a VPN provider or a local internet provider. So even if DAZN starts blocking VPNs, you’ll be prepared to go in with NordVPN.

  1. Yeah, I just tried mola.tv and it wanted me to sign up for a paid subscription. Any other methods?

    • Mola.tv has indeed changed its offer and is now paid. It’s relatively cheap, but doesn’t appear to work with American credit and debit cards. We’ve found a legal alternative, but unfortunately that isn’t completely free, either. DAZN offers access to all UFC fights for a monthly fee that’s significantly lower than the PPV options in the US, so we hope that helps! Some platforms also offer free UFC streams, but those tend to be unofficial, so we personally wouldn’t recommend using them. We’ve updated our article to reflect this new information. We hope it helps!

  2. It’s not free, very cheap yes, but not totally free. Thanks for the tip though, much appreciated!

    • Thank you for reaching out! We’ve adjusted the article with a new option that offers a big discount compared to PPV.

  3. Hi, unfortunately Kijk.nl doesn’t have the rights anymore.
Any new free VPN accessible websites to watch UFC? thank you

    • Yes! The Indonesian Mola.tv currently is your best bet for watching UFC for free. You can follow the instructions at the top of this page to get this to work. Good luck!
